The Graco HighBack TurboBooster Seat is designed for children 3 to 10 years old, weighing 30 to 100 pounds and 38″ to 57″ tall. Offering EPS, energy absorbing foam and a fully adjustable headrest, your little one will be riding in style, comfort, and safety. The Graco HighBack TurboBooster Seat offers 5 different color schemes, from Megan’s Pink and White, to Spitfire’s Black and Green, you’re sure to find a color that your child will love. In addition, the Graco HighBack TurboBooster Seat also offers padded, adjustable armrests, and two retractable cup holders. Because it’s super lightweight, it’s convenient and easy to install, and the open-loop belt guides place the seat belt in the correct position, across the shoulder and chest, not the neck or face, and across the lap, not the stomach. When your child reaches at least 40 pounds and 40″ tall, you can covert the Graco HighBack TurboBooster Seat into a backless booster seat.
The Graco HighBack TurboBooster Seat comes in two models, the original and the ELITE. The ELITE model offers a plush seat pad for additional comfort as well as full coverage back support.
The Graco HighBack TurboBooster Seat meets or exceeds all of the applicable U.S. Safety Standards, and was top rated by leading consumer magazines and publications. In addition, the Graco HighBack TurboBooster Seat was also rated BEST BET by the Insurance Institute For Highway Safety (IIHS).
Graco HighBack TurboBooster Features:
- For kids 3 to 10 years old, weighing 30 to 100 pounds and 38″ to 57″ tall (NOTE – It is safer to have your child in a harnessed forward-facing/rear-facing car seat from ages 1 to 4 years old, and less than 40 pounds. Most laws state this, therefore I would not suggest putting a child less than 4 or less than 40 pounds in this booster seat, or any other booster seat!)

First of all, although the Graco HighBack TurboBooster Seat states that it is recommended for children 3 to 10 years old, 30 to 100 pounds, and 38″ to 57″ tall, I would NOT recommend using this for a 3 year old or a 4 year old under 40 pounds, and under 40″ tall. Booster seats are not intended for small children, even though the manufacturer’s clearly state that they can be used, it is not recommended. It’s also illegal in some states. So make sure you know what your state’s car seat law requirements are. Another reason for this age and weight limit is that children under 40 pounds do not weigh enough to hold the booster seat in place. If you’re looking for a forward facing car seat for a child from 1 to 4 years old, check out this list of Convertible Car Seats that offer a 5-point harness system.
Okay, moving on. The Graco HighBack TurboBooster Seat comes with several recommendations for safety from not only leading consumer magazines and other publications, but also from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety). The IIHS rates Booster Seats based on seat belt paths. In other words, if the seat belts are correctly guided across the child’s shoulders and chest, as well as the lap, they give it a BEST BET, which is exactly what they’ve given the Graco HighBack TurboBooster Seat. This is extremely important in the event of a crash. If the seat belts are not correctly positioned than your child could face more serious injuries.
As for reviews, the Graco HighBack TurboBooster Seat did really well. With 307 out of 339 giving it 4 to 5 stars, and 5 being the max, that’s a 91% customer satisfaction rating. The most loved features on the Graco HighBack TurboBooster Seat seem to be the dual cup holders, the ease of use and simple installation, the adjustable headrest, and the fact that the kids seem to love them! The only real complaints I found were that the head rest only adjusts for height, not width, and that the padding leaves little room for the child’s head. The extra padding in the Graco HighBack TurboBooster Seat head rest is a safety feature that helps protect the child’s head and neck in the event of a crash, therefore I feel it’s worth it. Also, the Graco HighBack TurboBooster Seat comes in two different models, the original, and the ELITE model. The Elite model offers additional padding in the seat and head rest. On Amazon, some of the Elite models may be listed with the original, and they cost about $20 dollars more.
In conclusion, the Graco HighBack TurboBooster Seat is an excellent booster seat for the price, but only if you plan on using it for a 4 year old or older, weighing more than 40 pounds, and taller than the 40″. See what others had to say about their Graco HighBack TurboBooster Seat below.
Safety First, Great Value, and Child Approved, December 28, 2011
Purchased this for my 4 1/2 year old. Consumer Reports rated the Graco HighBack TurboBooster Seat very well-within top 10 which is why it became an option. Had wonderful ratings and comments from other purchasers. Had many pattern styles to select from. Price wise, it made perfect sense to purchase this one when it rated better than some of the more expensive recommended seats. My son received this and is very, very content. He has commented on its comfort-ability and it remains easy for him to fall asleep and feel secure. This was a quality factor I was concerned about. Very happy with the purchase.
Great Car Seat, November 30, 2011
By Heather (Suburban Chicago)
The Graco HighBack TurboBooster Seat is a great car seat. Note when you look at the different options for this seat there are actually two different seats. Go to the Graco website to see what the differences are. We purchased the Anders, which is the “higher” model. It has more padding on it and it’s definitely worth the extra money considering how long the kids will be in the seat. We’re very happy with this seat and my son is comfortable.
